Michael B. Jordan’s Mom Reacts with a Major Eye Roll to Nikki Glaser’s NSFW Joke About Her Son

Michael B. Jordan Might Regret Bringing His Mom to the 2026 Golden Globes

Michael B. Jordan may have had second thoughts about bringing his mother as his date to the 2026 Golden Globe Awards.

Comedian Nikki Glaser didn’t hold back when she poked fun at the Sinners star, 38, during her opening monologue at the 83rd annual ceremony on Jan. 11, highlighting Jordan’s dual roles as twins Smoke and Stack in Ryan Coogler’s horror hit.

“I can’t believe it—we got two Michael B. Jordans. When I saw that, I was like, Nikki B. Jerkin’, because that was awesome,” quipped Glaser, 41, playfully twisting the actor’s full name.

While the joke drew laug

hs from the audience, the broadcast caught Donna Jordan, Michael’s mother, rolling her eyes with a drink in hand. Glaser quickly acknowledged the awkwardness, smiling and saying, “I’m so sorry. That should’ve been a DM.”

Jordan has a history of bringing his mom to awards shows, and this year he’s nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama, one of Sinners’ seven Golden Globe nominations. He also received recognition at this year’s Critics Choice Awards.

Reflecting on his parents’ influence, Jordan told PEOPLE in 2020, “My mom and dad sacrificed so much to provide for my sister, brother, and me. Honestly, it’s like they all have had such an impact on me and who I am and how I approach each day. Without that, a lot of things about me just wouldn’t be the same. So it all comes back to that foundation.”

Glaser didn’t hold back in her second consecutive Globes hosting gig. Alongside her playful nod to Jordan, she took jabs at Leonardo DiCaprio for dating younger women—quipping, “We don’t know anything else about you!”—and mocked CBS, calling it the “newest place to see B.S. news.”
